A Trip to the Broad Museum
My wife and I recently visited the newly constructed Broad Museum in downtown Los Angeles. The architecture of the museum is incredible and its curators have impeccable taste. All photos taken with the Fuji.
Denise standing in front of a photography of the Ferguson riots. I love the combination of the photo's silhouettes and museum's reflections.
Inside, the museum is designed to fade to the background. Simple and clean lines that span the floor allows the vibrant colors of the pieces to explode. The first floor features a variety of work by Murakami.
A different angle of the exhibit. You can see other pieces, including ceramics and other objects.
This is the piece that I wanted to take home.
I love how the "exit" sign is subtly designed and positioned.
This piece greets you when you walk up the flight of stairs to the 3rd floor. It's one of the highlights at the museum — nearly everyone pulls out their cameras and phones to snap photos.
I was most surprised that the piece of Michael Jackson and Bubbles was on display. Of course this was a huge attraction.
The perfect shade of blue.
I fell in love with the long corridors an natural light. Loved the reflections.
This piece blew my mind — we thought it was a portrait photograph. As it turns out, it's actually an acrylic.
Overall, we had an amazing time and loved the museum. We can't wait to come back next year when the exhibits get refreshed.
10/10.
